Polish Workflow and Swiss-made CtP

Prasowe Zaklady Graficzne of Wroclaw bought a Lüscher Xpose!130 CtP system at this year’s Poligrafia fair. ACCHSH PDF Organizer and PuzzleFlow Light software package have been bundled with the CtP system. The whole system was delivered to Wroclaw straight from the fair booth.

The investment in CtP was an inevitable move in Prasowe Zaklady Graficzne’s development plans. Finally, the company chose the Xpose!130 system which was delivered by Grafikus, the Polish distributor of Lüscher company, in April. Xpose!130 is a thermal platesetter based on the internal drum technology offering 1130 x 950 mm plate size. A couple of months before a bigger system of this kind had been bought by Ortis company of Bydgoszcz. Recently Ortis and Prasowe Zaklady Graficzne have signed an agreement of cooperation which covers the items such as negotiating big printing orders.

The CtP system bought by Prasowe Zaklady Graficzne was bundled with a workflow system based on the software created by the Polish company ACCHSH. The printing house bought the package including the PDF Organizer and PuzzleFlow Light modules used for electronic stripping. Both the CtP platesetter and the workflow system were recommended by Grafikus company, the Polish distributor of Lüscher – says Marcin Szelezin of Prasowe Zakldy Graficzne’s CtP department. – After analyzing the market offer we have recognized that the PuzzleFlow workflow and PDF Organizer software will perfectly meet our needs.

PDF Organizer ordered by Prasowe Zaklady Graficzne is a 3rd generation of the ACCHSH imposition tool supporting PDF, TIFF, EPS, JPEG and DCS files as input documents. The software incorporates PS files converted to PDF documents in the same publication. PDF Organizer saves output as PDF documents, PJTF or JDF (the latest option to be added to PuzzleFlow) files providing separation information for the separated and colorant control for composite output files through the embedded PJTF files, to mark output colorants and separation order.

PuzzleFlow Light is one of the versions of the flagship workflow solution created by ACCHSH company. The “light” version offers one active Queue Management module as well as other modules known from the basic version of PuzzleFlow: PreflightCheck (initially verifies PDF files), PDF/XMaker (transforms PDF jobs into PDF/X compliant documents), Normalizer (converts incoming PS, TIFF, JPEG, EPS, DCS files into PDF format, verifies file settings), PageSelector (automatically changes the page order, selection, print the sequence and the number of copies in the incoming job) and PageSplitter (splits multi page input documents into single pages).

Prasowe Zaklady Graficzne has also bought the Global Graphics Harlequin RIP.

Before investing in CtP system, Prasowe Zaklady Graficzne had been cooperating with Wroclaw-based CtP studios. Currently, a few weeks after installing the Lüscher/ACCHSH system, the printing house uses only the offset plates produced on its own CtP. We produce approx. 1200 plates per month – Marcin Szelezin says. – And we are very happy with the system we have chosen.
